The situation in the South Caucasus remains difficult, but there are prerequisites for its improvement; however, the West hinders it, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said at the 12th meeting of the secretaries of the CIS security councils in Moscow.
“When it comes to the regional security in the South Caucasus, the situation remains difficult, but there are prerequisites for its improvement. The improvement is hindered by external players acting, to put it mildly, with reprehensible goals—primarily Western countries,” Shoigu said.
“This only confirms the thesis that regional problems need regional solutions,” he said.
