Situation is heading toward World War III – Anatoly Matviychuk on Trump’s statements
Speaking with Alpha News, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk commented on US President Donald Trump’s statements regarding developments in Ukraine and suggested potential consequences.
“I assess the situation Trump created yesterday from two perspectives: first, Trump implicitly said, ‘I’m abandoning Ukraine. NATO and Europe are now responsible for Ukraine, and I’ll just observe. Want to buy weapons? Buy them from me. Do whatever you want.’ Second, Trump thereby made it clear that he is completely washing his hands of the Ukrainian issue and retreating into the shadows, as he sees no prospects in it for himself,” the expert said.
According to Matviychuk, Trump has transferred responsibility for Ukraine to Europe and NATO.
“He said that Ukraine could reclaim the 1991 territories and return to its borders if Europe and NATO help it. ‘Europe’ and ‘NATO’ are key words in his rhetoric about handing over everything to Europe and NATO. And, in fact, by doing so, the US, as a player in efforts to reconcile Ukraine and Russia, is stepping back and ceding authority to Europe and NATO,” Matviychuk said.
Summarizing his commentary, Anatoly Matviychuk offered a grim forecast and said that the world is on the brink of World War III.
“The situation is heading toward World War III. NATO is already officially present on Ukrainian territory. Headquarters and command posts have been established in Odessa for the French armed forces. The French, British, and Romanians have established a military corps in Romania. We were all waiting for the situation to develop in the Western theater of operations, but it is unfolding in the Southern theater. In reality, in military terms, we must say that NATO has entered a war with Russia. The conflict will escalate and take on the ugly form of war,” Matviychuk concluded.
