Some of our compatriots from the north came to Jerusalem because it is safe here – Setrag Balian
Alpha News contacted Setrag Balian, founder of the Save the ARQ Movement, to learn about the situation in Jerusalem and other Armenian-populated Israeli cities in light of the Lebanese-Israeli conflict.
“Latest events are certainly a cause of concern for everyone. Fortunately, Jerusalem, which is the center of all communities, religions and nations, has never been targeted. There has never been an air alert here, but the situation in the north is quite tense. We still have compatriots there, although some have made it to Jerusalem because it is safe and secure. We urge everyone to be sure to stock up on water and food. But here, at least for the moment, the situation is stable.
There are many innocent victims, and the number is increasing. We, being the Armenian community, are closely following the situation,” Balian concluded.
