South Caucasus holds key importance for Tehran – Iranian Foreign Ministry

The South Caucasus holds key significance for Iran, and peace and stability in this region are extremely important for Tehran, said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, commenting on the visit of Iran’s Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support, Aziz Nasirzadeh, to Azerbaijan.

According to him, Iran seeks to strengthen cooperation and trust with the countries of the region, especially with the states of the South Caucasus, across all spheres. Such visits and consultations are essential for maintaining and enhancing the level of trust among regional countries.
