Tavush for the Homeland civil movement has released a statement.

“Yesterday, Nikol Pashinyan met with the residents of Kirants village in the Armenian government building. The atmosphere of the meeting was not encouraging. Not only did he not dispel the concerns of the residents, but moreover, the questions that concern the Kirants residents remained unanswered, which once again proves that Armenia’s current government does not have a clear and alternative political strategy to ensure the safety of its own citizens, to protect their lives and property rights.

At the same time, the government announced that it cannot guarantee the safety of the residents of the ‘Armenian part’ of the delimited territory.

The authorities exhausted their last chance to provide state security guarantees to the residents of Kirants village in the Tavush region and, apparently, to other communities of the remaining regions subject to demarcation.

This further proves that Armenia’s current illegitimate government, spreading false narratives about delimitation, sovereignty, and peace, makes territorial unconstitutional and unilateral concessions in favor of Azerbaijan, whose driving ambitions will soon be clearly manifested in Syunik, Ararat, and Gegharkunik.

The Armenian government has squandered the military, political, security, and diplomatic arsenal of the Armenian resistance, and with its incompetence as well as demoralizing, fake, and false information flows, it is trying to justify itself at the expense of the national and state interests of Armenia and the Armenian people.

Residents of Tavush, therefore citizens of Armenia, have not been protected for a long time.

The government has lost credibility with its political behavior due to the complete failure of its constitutional and moral obligation to ensure the life of the common citizen.

We reaffirm that this entire process is unlawful. It contradicts the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Armenia. Therefore, it should be stopped,” the statement reads.
