‘Stay away from anti-national attempts to divide Church’ – Aram I to authorities

Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, Aram I, called on the Armenian authorities to stay away from anti-national attempts to divide the Armenian Apostolic Church.

“To the authorities of Armenia: refrain from unconstitutional and reprehensible steps that interfere in the internal life and problems of Holy Etchmiadzin, and from sowing seeds of discord in the Church in various ways, which lead our Church, nation, and homeland to self-destruction.

To Holy Etchmiadzin: with diligence, patience, and prudence, resist division in monastic life and unite around His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch, as well as the monastic union and principles, and address existing problems in a fraternal spirit, through canonical process and realistic approach, with determination to make appropriate decisions,” emphasized Aram I.
