Strong earthquake hits Azerbaijan, felt in Armenia

On December 7, at 8:15 a.m., a magnitude-5.6 earthquake was recorded in Armenia, 61 kilometers north of Sumgait, Azerbaijan.
The epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 68 kilometers, and the intensity reached 7-8 at the epicenter.
The quake was felt also in Noyemberyan, Ijevan, Dilijan, and Berd cities, as well as in Achajur village of Armenia’s Tavush Province.
