Student from Nerkin Getashen school ranks second at Global Mental Math Olympiad
Arina Abelyan, a 7th grade student at secondary school No. 2 of Nerkin Getashen village, Gegharkunik Marz, ranked second at the Global Mental Math Olympiad held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Armine Ghumashyan, the director of the school, told Armenpress that in the last four years, this was Arina’s seventh achievement in the Mental Math Olympiad. Previously, she won super-championship cups and several 1st place diplomas.
“What was moving is that Arina dedicated her victory to the memory of the heroes of the village of Nerkin Getashen, who were martyred in the 44-day Artsakh war, and to the founder of the school, Aghvan Yeghiazaryan. We are proud of the success of our gifted student and believe that she will soon soar to new heights of science,” Ghumashyan said.
