Surb Khach Church in Akhalkalaki celebrates Khachverats

All active churches of Javakhk celebrated the Feast of Khachverats (Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross). Rev. Archimandrite Nshan Amayakan served the festive service in the church of Surb Khach in Akhalkalaki, jnews. ge reports.

This day was special for the pilgrims, as they had an opportunity to approach and touch the relics of Apostle Tovmas, specially brought from Tbilisi to Akhalkalaki.

At the end of the liturgy, the pilgrims walked around the city under the guidance of the clergy and with the relics of the saint.
