The suspension of US immigration visa processing will affect nine CIS countries, including Armenia, according to RIA Novosti, which analyzed open data.
Earlier, the US State Department announced that it would halt the processing of immigration visas for citizens of 75 countries as part of tightening controls over applicants. The decision will take effect on January 21 and will remain in force for an indefinite period.
In addition to Armenia, the countries subject to the new visa restrictions are Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.
Similar restrictions have already been in force since January 1 for Turkmenistan. Among all CIS countries, only Tajikistan and Ukraine will not be affected by the suspension of immigration visa processing.
