The situation in the Armenian Parliament escalated following the speech of opposition MP Artur Sargsyan, who had been stripped of his parliamentary immunity just the day before.

Earlier, Kristine Vardanyan—member of the ARF party and the “Armenia” faction— reported live that unidentified persons, presumably aides of the Civil Contract Party, entered the session hall and attacked the opposition members.

Sargsyan had previously noted that the issue of depriving him of immunity had been resolved. “This precious time that I am wasting here, I’d rather spend with my four young children and my wife, go to church, put a candle and go to the Investigative Committee. Goodbye,” he added.
