The Must Pass resolution should be adopted in order for the amendments to the US Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act to pass, ANCA Government Affairs Director Tereza Yerimyan told Alpha News.

“ANCA calls on all Armenian Americans to call their congressmen and demand that 10 amendments to the US National Defense Authorization Act be passed. The Must Pass resolution is currently in the process of being adopted. This is a very good opportunity to present these legislative proposals as they will help relations between Armenia and the US and will also hold Azerbaijan accountable for its actions. Among them, we present various resolutions similar to those presented in Congress. For example, Rep. Adam Schiff introduced a resolution demanding the immediate release of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan,” Yerimyan said.

She stressed that the House Rules Committee must consider all resolutions and decide whether it accepts the amendments or not.

“At the moment, 9 out of 10 amendments are very likely to be accepted. The House Rules Committee must consider all resolutions and decide whether to include these 10 amendments. Most likely, they will pass, but it is not yet clear, everything is in a process that consists of three stages. The first one will take place today, followed by a general vote. Then we will combine several resolutions, after which it will be determined whether they will be accepted or not. If we find ourselves in a group that is Republican or bipartisan, then with a high probability our amendments will be accepted,” Yerimyan concluded.
