On February 20, the Glendale Youth Center hosted a public discussion titled “The Armenian Genocide and Modern-Day Armenia,” which is one of the most discussed topics among Diaspora Armenians.

Everyone was concerned about the incomprehensible events taking place in Armenia—both the panelists and the participants in the discussion, who in some cases described these events as treacherous.

“Genocide is not only the destruction of a nation or a race, but also the murder of memory, and denial is the last weapon to distort history,” attorney Gevorg Hakobjyan said.

Vazgen Vanatur, president of the Union of Armenian Writers and Journalists of the US, recalled an excerpt from the conversation between Stalin and Beria about why Stalin did not allow to shoot General Garegin Ter-Harutyunyan.
