The exhibition entitled ‘The Art of Christian Armenia’ is being held at the Moscow cultural and educational center ‘Book Chamber in Chernigovsky’ from February 5 to 26.

The event is organized by the Tapan Museum of Armenian Church Art in cooperation with the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.

“At this exhibition, we show the life and culture of our people, which are inseparable. Nowadays, our fellow Armenians may not belong to the church or to any religion; be quite, let’s say, a hundred percent secular person, but the entire Christian two-thousand-year history of Armenia suggests otherwise. It shows that our chants, sharakans, monasteries, and temples were closely connected with folk life,” Vardan Poghosyan, expert on national and religious relations and subdeacon of the Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Church, told Alpha News.

“This exhibition is the result of the work of a large number of people, which is aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Russian Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic Churches and strengthening the cultural ties between our peoples,” Dmitry Mironov, an employee of the Book Chamber in Chernigovsky, told Alpha News.
