‘The number one priority is to build up our military power’: Aliyev

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the parliamentary session that the number one priority for the country is to build up its military power, Azerbaijani media reports.

“Both the developments taking place in the world—new conflict zones, wars, and escalation of tension around us—and revanchist tendencies in Armenia force us to pay constant attention to this area,” he said.

According to Aliyev, if Baku pays less attention to the military sphere and does not provide the adequate level of funds allocated for this, Azerbaijan may face problems in the future.
