The only Western Azerbaijan is on Iran’s territory — French ambassador to Armenia

The only Western Azerbaijan is on the territory of Iran, French Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies said in a post on X.

“The one and only,” the ambassador noted, attaching a map of West Azerbaijan province to the post.

Azerbaijan has been propagandizing and spreading a thesis of “Western Azerbaijan” on an official level, claiming that it is located on Armenian territory. An initiative group has been established in the Azerbaijani parliament to return to “Western Azerbaijan”. Armenia regards this as an encroachment on its territorial integrity.
