Azerbaijan’s anger is not surprising, Sarineh Abrahamian, the head of the Armenian National Committee of the Netherlands, told Alpha News, referring to Baku’s hysteria towards the Netherlands.

It should be noted that in the foreign policy program published on the website of the Government of the Netherlands, Artsakh was presented as occupied by Azerbaijan and was called “Nagorno-Karabakh”. The phrase “occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan” provoked the anger of official Baku.

“The anger of Azerbaijan and the reaction of the Foreign Ministry to the wording contained in this document are not surprising. We are talking about the agreement of the Dutch government, which is actually a program of the elected government. It is truly unprecedented that special attention is being paid to this international political event. This indicates the importance of this issue,” she stressed.

According to Abrahamian, this step taken by the Netherlands is an important starting point for both Armenia and the Armenian National Committee.

“The use of the phrase ‘occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaija’ means that the Netherlands assesses this event in this way. This document reflects the program of the entire newly elected government and positions on important external and internal issues. It is difficult to say exactly what can be expected, but the fact that today the Netherlands considers Artsakh ‘Nagorno-Karabakh’ occupied by Azerbaijan is an important starting point for us and the Armenian National Committee, on which we should rely and demand responsibility from the Dutch government,” Sarineh Abrahamian concluded.
