Boris Rozhin, an expert at Russia’s Center for Military and Political Journalism, commented to Alpha News on Azerbaijan’s purchase of weapons from Israel.

“Azerbaijan receives enough weapons from Israel. So in this regard, Azerbaijan follows its long-standing policy of cooperation with Israel. Azerbaijan has its own goals related to the control of the so-called ‘Zangezur corridor’. The prevention of military actions in Transcaucasia is very likely to obtain a corridor from Nakhichevan to Azerbaijan and then create a Turkish corridor to Baku. In my opinion, the probability of this scenario is quite high,” the expert noted.

Boris Rozhin stressed that Israel has commercial and political interests in the region.

“Now peace agreements are worth no more than the paper they are written on. International law is currently not functional. Those countries that cannot protect their interests become fodder for those countries that can take over the territories of their neighbors. There are all prerequisites for this conflict to resume in the next year or two. And Israel has commercial and political interests. In addition, it will deal a blow to Iran’s positions in Transcaucasia, because from the territory of Azerbaijan, it is actually possible to put pressure on Iran,” Rozhin said.
