Speaking with Alpha News, Garen Jinbachian, ANCA-WR Community Coordinator, commented on the Washington talks. According to him, they cannot be called negotiations, since negotiations involve dialogue.

“What was signed is merely a declaration. In this case, we are witnessing unilateral concessions,” he said.

According to Jinbachian, peace cannot be achieved if it is built on ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.

“There can be no peace if today there are Armenian sovereign lands seized and forcibly occupied by the Azerbaijani army. If these are agreements, then why is there no mention of that?” he noted.

In his opinion, this issue should become a priority both within the US government and on the international stage.
