Alpha News spoke with ARF “Nor Seround” Central Executive chairperson Njteh Karakavorian regarding the ongoing protests in France.

“There is significant dissatisfaction related to the distribution of wealth in France. Today, the small percentage considered the richest class holds about 50% of the country’s internal working capital,” said Karakavorian.

According to him, French individuals who occupy top positions on the Forbes list avoid paying taxes. “These people use various methods—accountants, offshore accounts, and so on—to evade taxes,” he said.

Karakavorian noted that this is precisely the reason behind today’s demonstrations. He stated that the French government is pushing for strict budget cuts in an effort to address the country’s growing debt. “They justify this by saying people need to work more, the retirement age should be raised, and so on,” he added.
