‘There is not a single Armenian in the world who would question the Genocide, except Pashinyan’: Mourad Papazian

Speaking with Alpha News, Mourad Papazian, co-chair of the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations of France (CCAF) and a member of the ARF Bureau, criticized Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s scandalous statements. On January 24, at a meeting with the Armenian community of Switzerland, Pashinyan questioned the fact of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
“For almost 7 years, Pashinyan has been making every effort to weaken the Armenian side. It is incomprehensible, but it must be said that he does it brilliantly when he humiliates Armenia and the Diaspora, and he did the same in the case of Artsakh,” he said and recalled that some time ago, MP Andranik Kocharyan made similar statements, questioning the tragedy of the Armenian people in 1915.
“Remember, some time ago Andranik Kocharyan said that we need to count the number of victims; maybe there were more or less than 1.5 million. This was already a sign that they were questioning the Armenian Genocide. This policy was agreed upon with Erdogan, just as the Artsakh issue was agreed upon with Aliyev,” Mourad Papazian emphasized.
He noted that this also applies to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, with Aliyev and Erdogan talking about changing and then Pashinyan repeating after them. According to Papazian, there is not a single Armenian in the world, except Pashinyan, who would question the Armenian Genocide.
“To all these statements, we can also add the issue of the Constitution, since Pashinyan wants to make amendments to it. When Pashinyan questions and criticizes the Declaration of Independence, when we see that Pashinyan does not protect Armenia’s borders, since we have occupied territories in sovereign Armenia since 2021, and when we see that Pashinyan is trying to weaken the Armenian Diaspora, we come to the conclusion that this is precisely his mission. There is not a single Armenian in the world who would question the Genocide, not a single one; it is simply impossible to find such a person, with the exception of Pashinyan and his partners,” Mourad Papazian concluded.
