Speaking with Alpha News, Russian MP Vitaly Milonov commented on the talks between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Abu Dhabi. According to MP, the meeting may have concerned the so-called “Zangezur corridor,” which will be tragic for Armenia’s future.

“The main risk for Armenia is Nikol Pashinyan himself, because Aliyev, Erdogan and others have not changed their position. They have never been and will never be friends for Armenia. This is a meeting with an unclear agenda, and it is hidden from the people. If it concerns border demarcation, then it is long overdue. I am afraid that as a result of some unclear actions, someone may have the feeling that Armenia is not ready to defend its entire territory. And an agreement may be concluded on some kind of uncontrolled transit of territory between Nakhichevan and Azerbaijan, that is, in fact, the creation of a corridor, which will certainly be tragic for the future of Armenia itself. That is, I cannot rule out the assumption that the meeting concerned the so-called corridor,” Milonov said.

According to the MP, it seems that Aliyev and Pashinyan are acting in sync.

“The moves taken by both Aliyev and Pashinyan are synchronized. Personally, I am confident that all of these are some elements of the same campaign. And the outcome of this campaign is deplorable for Armenia’s existence as an independent state. If the so-called corridor is organized, there is a threat of losing all of Syunik. We understand perfectly well that there are some groups of barbarians who came from the territory of Turkey and are now robbing, raping, and killing on the territory of Syria. The risk is high that they could end up in the Armenian region,” Milonov concluded.
