Head of the Institute of Eastern Europe and CIS countries in Israel Alexander Tsinker commented to Alpha News on a possible clash between Israel and Iran, as well as how this could affect Armenia.
According to the expert, there will be no clash between Israel and Iran in the near future.
“It is clear that there is a confrontation; it is almost written in their Constitution that the Zionist entity must be destroyed. But today Israel has no time for that, it needs to conduct an operation to destroy the terrorist organization Hamas in Gaza, and this will take some time. Then it will be necessary to analyze how it happened that on the first day of the war there were certain mistakes in intelligence, and in reaction. So Israel has something to do in the near future.
Moreover, our allies, including the US, also warned Hamas—though it was too late—Hezbollah and Iran not to interfere in the incident that is now happening in our country. And to do this, they brought an aircraft carrier a little closer to our shores, accompanied by the American fleet, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea. It is clear that this does not imply its use, but it is a show of force so that no one would think of interfering with our confrontation with terrorists. Therefore, I do not see such an opportunity in the near future,” the expert noted.
“If such a confrontation ever happened at the level of a military, direct clash, we must understand that we do not have a border with Iran, it means, first of all, that Iran would start a war through some organizations or countries, and this would affect the Greater Middle East and, surely, Armenia too,” Tsinker concluded.
