Tom Sarafian opens his new restaurant in Melbourne

Renowned Australian chef of Armenian origin Tom Sarafian opens his new restaurant in Melbourne on August 20.

“This restaurant is a new chapter in a story that began generations ago. I’ve always wanted to create a space that captures the warmth of Middle Eastern hospitality and the richness of Arab and Armenian traditions,” Sarafian said.

The restaurant, named Zareh in honor of Sarafian’s grandfather, reflects his deep connection to family and heritage. Both his grandfather and father were professional chefs. Sarafian himself studied and worked in England, Egypt, Armenia, Lebanon, and Iran before settling in Melbourne, where he opened several venues and launched his own Sarafian product line.
