International relations expert Grigor Balasanyan, in an interview with Alpha News, addressed the concepts of “sovereignty,” “jurisdiction,” and “authority” currently being discussed in relation to Armenia, describing them as artificially placed on the agenda.

According to him, no state—including Azerbaijan—has ever officially questioned Armenia’s territorial integrity or sovereignty. However, Balasanyan noted that this issue is deliberately emphasized because the European Union is pursuing a policy aimed at distancing Armenia from its traditional allies and attempting to lead it in a very dangerous and uncertain direction.

“To disguise this process and carry it out without serious internal resistance, the public is presented with the idea that Armenia’s sovereignty is allegedly under threat, particularly from Moscow. This is a false and artificial agenda introduced for propaganda purposes,” the expert said.

Balasanyan noted that the so-called negotiations, which are presented as tools for preserving sovereignty, in reality pursue no substantive objectives and are purely propaganda.
