Traditional torchlight procession on 110th anniversary of Armenian Genocide to be held on April 23

The ARF Youth Union of Armenia and the “Nikol Aghbalyan” Student Union will organize a traditional torchlight procession on April 23 at 7:15 p.m., marking the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The procession will commence at Republic Square.

The torchlight procession symbolizes the ongoing struggle for international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, standing firmly against denial and oblivion.

The purpose of the procession is to to highlight that the fight for justice remains unwavering, emphasizing that through collective effort, self-organization, and the expression of national will, Armenians can overcome the “ghost of genocide” that has haunted them for over a century.

The procession will end at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, where participants will pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and reaffirm their commitment to the struggle.

This year, everyone has the opportunity to participate in the procession as a torchbearer. To become a torchbearer, you need to fill out an online application form. Applications will be accepted until April 20.
