Speaking with Alpha News, political scientist Denis Denisov commented on his vision of the processes surrounding the Implementation Framework for the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), the events in Iran, and the impact of US actions against Venezuela on international law.

“Given that this agreement is signed for 49 years, with the possibility of extension for another 50 years, it is hardly worth expecting that American investors will at some point simply want to hand over this project to some third party—whether NATO partners like Turkey, or partners like Azerbaijan. Therefore, I strongly doubt that these countries seriously consider the possibility that the US will come, play around, and then give the project away for their strategic goals and objectives. By its very nature, this project is intended primarily to bring benefits and secure the geopolitical interests of the United States, not Turkey or Azerbaijan. And, as we know from recent history, Turkey’s interests do not always align with those of the United States. In this case, both certain actions of synergy and the consequences of this project may be linked to misunderstandings among their partners about the goals and objectives the US will pursue,” the political scientist said.

Denisov sees in the actions of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the region a desire to appeal to their domestic electorates.

What seems interesting now around this project is probably its symbolic content. The comments made in Azerbaijan and Turkey, in my view, are more aimed at internal audiences—to present it as the realization or continuation of the geopolitical ideas and projects they are trying to implement in the region,” Denisov emphasized.
