Tsaghkazard Kids Festival held in Glendale
The second Tsaghkazard festival in Glendale brought together students from various educational institutions, music schools, dance groups, and art centers within the Armenian community. Armenian classical, folk, jazz and pop pieces by popular singers were performed on the festival stage for about five hours.
As part of the festival, various events were held in Verdugo Park, including handicraft workshops on the theme of Palm Sunday, coloring of paintings centered on Armenian history and culture, and more. At the carpet weaving pavilion, students from Clark Magnet High School showcased the rich traditions of Armenian carpet weaving.
The festival participants were extremely excited when Olympic chess champion, Grandmaster Tigran L. Petrosyan took the stage. Armen Hambardzumyan, founder of the Chess Academy of America, coach of the US youth chess team, organized a simultaneous chess game with Tigran Petrosyan. The Olympic champion expressed his deep appreciation for the contributions of Armenian chess masters in the US and shared his optimism for future achievements in the field.
The event organized by Armenian Kids Festival has become a beloved and anticipated tradition in the Armenian community, drawing over five thousand visitors annually.
