Turkey and Azerbaijan have long-term goals – Vanadzor residents on Trump Route

Residents of Vanadzor spoke to Alpha News about the so-called “Trump Route.”

“What does Trump have to do with Armenia? Who’s ever seen such a thing? Is America giving away its land for Armenia to manage?” said one Vanadzor resident.

Locals believe that the opening of the so-called “Zangezur corridor” would worsen Armenian-Iranian relations. “Naturally, our relations with Iran will deteriorate, because Iran has never wanted that corridor to be opened,” said another resident.

They also expressed concern that Turkey and Azerbaijan have long-term strategic goals tied to the road project.
