The so-called “Zangezur corridor” has become one of Turkey’s domestic and foreign policy priorities, Turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan told Alpha News.
“Over the past two years, Turkey’s military-political leadership’s references to the topic of the ‘Zangezur corridor’ have had one trend that is steadily growing. The so-called ‘Zangezur corridor’ has become one of Turkey’s domestic and foreign policy priorities. Turkey is moving to the next stage of implementing the so-called corridor, when it is not only a diplomatic matter but is also presented to the public as one of the main foreign policy initiatives,” he said.
According to Geghamyan, Turkey has already reached the stage where the pressure on Armenia will increase fourfold.
“The so-called corridor has reached the point where there is already a need to put pressure on Armenia to begin construction of the section on the territory of Armenia or work on its commissioning. In the coming months, we will witness a fourfold increase in pressure with all that this entails,” Varuzhan Geghamyan noted.
