Under August 8 agreement, Armenia received nothing—only problems – Robert Kocharyan

According to the document signed on August 8 at the White House, the United States gained control over the future corridor, the ability to monitor the Armenian-Iranian border, and thirdly—a nomination for the Nobel Prize, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said during his opening remarks at a press conference.
“What did Azerbaijan receive? The right to a corridor through Armenian territory, the dissolution of the Minsk Group, and the repeal of Section 907. All of this is quite concrete. And what did Armenia get? Honestly, I tried to find at least some specifics in these documents. Nothing. Only problems, which I will discuss later. And finally, what did Nikol Pashinyan get? That’s perfectly clear. The Prime Minister of Armenia got a photo signed by President Trump and a piece of paper with no legal force, which allows him to deceive the Armenian people once again. In the end, that’s the reality,” Kocharyan said.
According to him, Nikol Pashinyan played the role of a prop at the White House.
“There was a table, a chair, a photo, a flag—and Pashinyan. I truly don’t understand what ‘preliminary signing in the presence of heads of state’ means if everything has already been agreed upon. There was simply no more appropriate moment for the leaders themselves to sign these documents. This truly raises questions,” Kocharyan stressed.
