There are 29,000 children among the refugees deported to Armenia from Artsakh, the Italian branch of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said in a statement.
In the southeastern town of Goris, UNICEF has established a safe space that serves nearly 300 children daily, along with their parents. It’s a place where children can play, mothers can breastfeed, and pediatric support is at hand for acute concerns.
15 mobile bio-toilets have been installed near registration centers in Goris and Vayk.
Family hygiene kits have been delivered to hundreds of registered families at the newly established coordination center in Yerevan.
More supplies will be delivered to Armenia on Monday to assist displaced children and families.
