US always makes it clear that it keeps its finger on world pulse — Mikhail Sinelnikov-Orishak
Speaking with Alpha News, political scientist and Americanist Mikhail Sinelnikov-Orishak commented on the news that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“Blinken is simply entitled to do this. There is a certain order in government departments when officials need to make goals and policy statements, depending on the ranking and importance of a particular region. Now it is Blinken’s turn. In fact, this is an ordinary banal statement, a statement of fact.
America always makes it clear that it has its finger on the global pulse. America always needs a more or less stable situation in the world in this broad sense, because any destabilization, even minimal, regardless of distance, can negatively affect the order that has developed around the world now; therefore, it is beneficial for America to prolong it, so this is what they do. This is quite a pragmatic statement. As a rule, everything that stands behind it is the last thing the general public learns about. And to draw any far-reaching conclusions from this statement is naive,” Sinelnikov-Orishak said.
