US continues to be deeply engaged in return of Armenians held in Baku jail

The United States continues to be deeply engaged in the broader situation in the South Caucasus, State Department Spokesperson Vedant Patel said in a press briefing on Thursday when asked if there is anything that the US can do to help the detained Armenians in Azerbaijan.

“We have been clear and consistent that any country needs to treat all detainees humanely, with dignity, and in accordance with international law, and needs to respect detainees’ human rights, and that continues to be true in this case as well,” Patel said.
