US dismantling world order it created – Robert Kocharyan
The United States is dismantling the very world order that it itself created, and this is reflected in the new US National Security Strategy, Armenia’s second president, Robert Kocharyan, said in the opening remarks of his press conference, addressing geopolitical realities.
“It is quite an interesting document. Let me highlight a few points. First, the US acknowledges that the world is multipolar, and also admits that it is abandoning its ideological stance. Another noteworthy point is that it identifies China as its main adversary. And one more observation: it is ready to build constructive and pragmatic relations with Russia,” the president said.
According to Kocharyan, the United States has no fundamental interests in the South Caucasus—neither economic nor security-related.
He added that Armenia must do everything possible to avoid finding itself at the epicenter of conflicting interests.
“A captain does not take his ship out into the ocean during a storm, so as not to endanger either the vessel or the crew. This directly applies to Armenia. Under no circumstances should Armenia find itself at the epicenter of conflicting interests,” he emphasized.
