US Vice President JD Vance paid an official visit to the Republic of Armenia on February 9–10.

Speaking with Alpha News, political strategist Karen Kocharyan, responding to the question of whether Vance’s visit was support for Armenia or for the ruling administration, said:

“I believe it was, ultimately, support for the Republic of Armenia, from which the authorities will naturally benefit. It should be noted that I have not heard any representative of an opposition political force say that Vance’s visit was bad, or that if they come to power they will cancel the TRIPP program. If everyone agrees that the US can be an additional partner, I don’t think anything negative in that regard.”

According to Kocharyan, “in the geopolitical field, the US is such a serious and experienced player that it understands it cannot immediately become the leading player in this region.”
