US Secretary of State hopes for Armenia-Azerbaijan peace deal signing on Friday

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in an interview with journalist Raymond Arroyo, addressed the upcoming trilateral meeting of the leaders of Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan.

The Secretary expressed hope that this would mark the start of a peace agreement.

“Azerbaijan and Armenia, hopefully – we’re taping this here today, but on Friday of this week, we’ll be here to sign an agreement and the beginning of a peace deal there,” he said.
