US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair urges Biden Administration to hold Azerbaijan accountable for ethnic cleansing in Artsakh

US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Senator Ben Cardin called on the Biden Administration to hold the Aliyev regime accountable for its brazen campaign of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh.

In a letter to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Cardin stated that he remains “deeply concerned that Azerbaijan could take further military action to achieve additional political gains, particularly in regards to the so-called Zangezour corridor.”

“I strongly encourage you to continue to work with international partners and organizations to support accountability for the Aliyev regime’s actions,” Cardin stressed.

He also noted that Azerbaijan has been seizing and destroying Armenian cultural property in pursuit of its efforts to erase Armenian history and culture.
