US supports European Union Mission in Armenia, embassy says

The United States supports the European Union Mission in Armenia, the US embassy told the Azatutyun Radio, leaving its question unanswered.

The Azatutyun inquired from the embassy whether it is possible for the United States to join the monitoring mission, considering that there is reliable information on the expansion of the EU mission.

The embassy only noted that it welcomes the efforts of its partners, including the European Union, to build mutual trust in the region and provide a constructive atmosphere for a direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The United States fully supports Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the US embassy said.
