US ambassadors focus their efforts on police training and consider this democracy, but we see that such a democracy does not do any good, attorney and activist Sarig Armenian told Alpha News.
“The US Embassy and the Secretary of State are trying to present the Armenian opposition as pro-Russian forces, but it is not true. They are not anti-American. This opposition represents values that save the homeland, and Armenians around the world have to be sure that Srbazan’s movement is pro-Armenian and democratic. US ambassadors focus their efforts on police training and consider this democracy. Meanwhile, we see that such a democracy does not do any good. It does not follow any international laws, while international law says that the protesters must be protected because they are the ones who create real democracy,” Armenian said.
Shs emphasized that all that is happening in Armenia is American values, but violence has nothing to do with democracy.
“Instead of constantly spending money on the police system, the United States could allocate that money for the forcibly displaced people of Artsakh. But they use that money so that American officials come to Armenia, or they use it to train police officers who throw grenades at people without hesitation. The police make money that way, but it is not like this is new or something. All these are American values that have already reached Armenia. What kind of democracy is this?” Armenian concluded.
