US welcomes meeting of Armenian and Turkish special representatives

The United States welcomed the meeting of Armenian and Turkish special representatives, calling the talks “a positive step in bringing peace and stability to the South Caucasus.”

“We welcome this meeting. The United States considers Turkey-Armenia normalization a positive step in bringing peace and stability to the South Caucasus,” a State Department spokesperson told Turkish Anadolu Agency.

“Armenia and Azerbaijan continue to make significant progress towards finalizing a peace agreement, and we are committed to supporting that process. The time for peace is now,” the spokesperson added.

As reported earlier, the Armenian and Turkish special representatives met on Tuesday at the common border.
