On December 23, the Alpha Media House School of Integrated Communications and Journalism launched a new series of lectures entitled “Formation and Use of Political Myths” by Viktor Soghomonyan, political scientist and professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
The course participants were primarily impressed by the simple and engaging style of presenting the topic.
“I learned that similar courses were organized last year. This year I decided not to miss this opportunity. I needed an extensive expert explanation of a number of issues that interest me. The first lesson was quite impressive,” Gagik Asatryan told Alpha News.
The participants also noted the importance of Viktor Soghomonyan’s presentation of difficult topics using clear examples, without complicated terms. “I knew that courses of this format have been organized before, but this time I decided not to miss the opportunity. The first lesson was really very interesting. I liked the fact that all the topics were presented figuratively, not only with definitions. The format of the discussion was clear and well chosen,” emphasized Anna Mkrtchyan, a participant of the course.
For Viktor Soghomonyan, it is important that the listeners be interested enough to come and participate in the second cycle of lectures with love.
“This is another annual course. We are trying to complicate the topics more and more, not referring to political processes or details of media coverage, but looking more globally at the events in politics to answer questions about how society understands political ideas and how the media and technologies work to bring the ideas proposed by politicians to people. The most important thing for me is that the listeners were interested,” Viktor Soghomonyan said.
