Virtuoso pianist Levon Oganezov dies at 82

Maria Shklover, the daughter of the celebrated Soviet and Russian pianist of Armenian descent, composer, actor, television host, and People’s Artist of Russia Levon Oganezov, announced her father’s passing on social media.

Levon Oganezov passed away on December 13 after a long battle with cancer.

“To his many admirers, he will be remembered for his virtuosity and sparkling humor. To us, he will forever remain a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, and best friend. Details about the farewell will be announced later,” the statement reads.
