Vladimir Putin: The Armenian leadership itself has essentially recognized Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Karabakh

At the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin has noted that he is in contact with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and there are no problems in communication.

“He sent me a detailed letter. We are in contact with him. We have no problems with Armenia and with Prime Minister Pashinyan,” the Russian president said.

Speaking about the status of Artsakh, Putin has noted that it has already been determined by Yerevan itself.

“The Armenian leadership itself has essentially recognized Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Karabakh,” he said.

According to the President of Russia, humanitarian issues and the prevention of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh are still a top priority.

Putin has noted that “he expects that Azerbaijan is not interested in any ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh.”

Speaking about the cooperation between Armenia and the United States, he has stressed that he does not think there is any reversal here.
