We are dealing with disgraceful lawlessness – Armen Feroyan

The case against Samvel Karapetyan is entirely political persecution, since the criminal case materials lack any factual evidence that could be connected to Karapetyan, lawyer Armen Feroyan said during a press conference.

“We are dealing with disgraceful lawlessness. The case mentions various companies and individuals, but the factual evidence of any connection to Karapetyan is zero,” Feroyan said.

The lawyer accused the investigative bodies of violating the principle of objectivity: “The investigative body is obliged to obtain not only evidence of guilt but also evidence supporting innocence. However, in this case, only fabricated and accusatory evidence is being collected.”

Feroyan also highlighted the unprecedented speed of the proceedings.
“The same judges spend months, sometimes years, to make decisions in other cases, but in Karapetyan’s case they acted with a speed never before seen in practice,” he said.
