Businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, who was arrested for defending the Church, is leading the Strong Armenia party, which intends to participate in the June 7 elections independently, without forming alliances with other parties.
“We have repeatedly stated that we are heading for an absolute victory. Of course, it is the people who will decide how many votes each force will receive in parliament. Depending on the election results, there will be statements, but we must get acquainted with the programs and ideas of the political forces that enter the National Assembly to understand how we will continue cooperation. At this moment, I can say that we are heading for an absolute victory. Depending on the results, some political forces avoid responsibility—when things go well, they try to share responsibility, and when things go badly, they avoid it. We are responsible for our programs and we are heading for absolute victory so that we bear full responsibility for them,” said Strong Armenia party member Andranik Gevorgyan in an interview with Alpha News.
Presenting the party’s five economic steps, which they promise to implement within five years if elected, Gevorgyan said these will be carried out thanks to skilled and experienced managers.
“Our people will have jobs, will be able to access affordable medicines, acquire housing with state support, small businesses will be freed from taxes, and procurement centers will be established. This is an interconnected economic program that will improve our people’s lives. What we present is calculated. These five economic steps, guaranteed by Samvel Karapetyan, will become reality,” Gevorgyan said.
The Strong Armenia party is confident that Armenia needs a multi-vector foreign policy, with no alternative.
“Our leader has never taken the approach of promoting one vector by undermining another. There have always been statements about balancing foreign policy, never single-vector declarations. Armenia must have a chain of multi-vector relations. There must be guaranteed allies, guaranteed peace, guaranteed relations. To achieve this, a political force must have political will and potential, and that is possible only with a strong leader and negotiator. A weak government cannot pursue a multi-vector policy. We see and hear the current government’s statements and actions, which do not align with each other,” Gevorgyan said.
