At the opening ceremony of the 108th Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan presented the process of normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and the agreements reached. He added that a historic opportunity has emerged to overcome past conflicts and build a peaceful and neighborly future.
“It is our duty not to miss this opportunity and to turn it into a historic reality of stability and development. The Washington Declaration highlights the importance of opening communications in the name of global stability and prosperity. A special role in this process is played by the Armenian-American project for international peace and prosperity, the ‘Trump Route,’ which will be implemented on the territory of Armenia. This initiative goes far beyond an infrastructure program—it is a bridge of trust and cooperation, the implementation of which will yield tangible results across the region,” Rubinyan said.
Speaking about the normalization of relations with Turkey, he noted that it is one of Armenia’s foreign policy priorities.
“Our dialogue with Turkey continues, and we are convinced that this historic opportunity to build neighborly relations must not be missed. Normalization will not only bring stability and prosperity to our region but will also contribute to strengthening global security, demonstrating that longstanding disagreements can be overcome through dialogue and diplomacy. We hope Turkey will respond to our readiness to establish diplomatic relations and open the borders as soon as possible. We are ready to do this today,” Rubinyan said.
