We are witnessing final days of Armenian Republic as a state – Yevgeny Satanovsky

Speaking with Alpha News, Russian political scientist Yevgeny Satanovsky commented on the outcome of the talks between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, mediated by US President Donald Trump in Washington.
“Trump bought Armenia and Azerbaijan. We know how Washington agreements usually end. But for now, everyone is happy—Pashinyan will profit from this, and Aliyev got his ‘Zangezur corridor’. Meanwhile, Armenia and Azerbaijan now have an American presence,” Satanovsky said.
According to the expert, Armenia will soon no longer have the Syunik region.
“Armenia currently has Syunik, but it won’t for long. Armenia will be American, that is why Pashinyan was appointed. The current leader of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, is breaking relations with Russia. So what can Armenia become, having broken military, political and other ties with Russia? It can either become a vilayet of Turkey or an ostan of Iran—there are no other options. And to prevent it from falling under Iranian influence, it’s convenient for Turkey that Armenia comes under American control. We are probably witnessing the final days of the Armenian Republic as a state that existed within the Soviet Union,” Satanovsky concluded.
