“We asked nothing of Putin, it is they who received support from Turkey and judge everyone by their own standards”: Tigran Abrahamyan

According to pro-government propagandists, the team of philanthropist and businessman Samvel Karapetyan allegedly approached Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to intervene so that Karapetyan might be released. Alpha News spoke on this topic with Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party. He stated that the ruling authorities had not approached the Russian president on any matter.

“We have no need to ask anything of anyone, and naturally we have not done so. As for this claim, they are probably judging everyone by their own standards. As we recall, the current authorities recently received words of support from Turkey. If they measure everything by their own yardstick, I have nothing to add,” Abrahamyan said.

According to the party member, they stand for building relations on an equal footing and intend to develop ties with the United States, the EU, and the EAEU member states led by Russia, as well as with regional states and the two neighbors with whom relations have yet to be normalized.
