‘We can’t get the paperwork sorted to secure housing’ – displaced Artsakh resident

Following their forced displacement, Artsakh Armenians who have settled in Syunik’s Bardzravan village have spoken out about the issues they continue to face.

“We came from Karabakh, and we can’t get the paperwork sorted to secure housing. I have eight grandchildren. If the landlord comes and tells me to leave, I don’t know where I’ll go. Half of my documents were left in Karabakh, but here they keep asking for this document, that document. Where am I supposed to get them?” one resident told us.

The head of the community noted that they are doing everything within their power to support the displaced Artsakh residents.

“We have 23 people from Artsakh. Whatever resources we have, we’ve used them. We’ve done everything within our power. We’ve responded to every request for help. The remaining issues are personal matters that they need to resolve themselves,” he said.
